Honest Car Check is run by DOT.MOV Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales. By using the site, buying a report or opening a trade account you agree to these terms. The version in force when you pay applies to that payment.
What we provide
A free UK vehicle profile, a one-off full report and trade accounts, all built from official DVLA and DVSA data for the registration entered. We do not provide finance, write-off, stolen or keeper history.
No guarantee
We show the data as DVLA and DVSA supply it when the report is created. We are not responsible for errors in that data. The written review summarises the record and is not a mechanical inspection or legal advice.
One-off reports (£4.99)
A report is created and shown to you as soon as you pay. By paying you ask us to create it straight away, and you agree that once it has been created you lose the right to cancel and it cannot be refunded. If a report fails to be created, tell us and we will refund you in full.
Trade accounts
For businesses only. A trade account is for a business in the motor trade, buying for that business. When you open one you confirm that you are.
What you pay for. A monthly subscription, paid in advance by card through Stripe. It includes a set number of full reports each month, shared by everyone on the account. Unused reports do not carry over. Reports that fail to be created are not counted. Add-ons (extra places, extra reports) are charged for the rest of the current month when added, then monthly with the plan. If a payment fails, the account keeps working for 7 days while the card is retried.
Cancelling. Cancel at any time from Billing in your account. Unless a refund is paid (below), cancelling stops the next payment and the account keeps working until the end of the month already paid for. There is no refund for that month.
First-month refund. If you cancel within 7 days of the first payment on your first trade account, we refund the £19.99 plan payment less £4.99 for each report built on the account:

The refund goes back to the card that paid. When a refund is paid the account closes straight away and no more reports can be built. Charges for add-ons are not refunded. The first-month refund applies once per business.
Fair use. Reports are for your own stock, part-exchanges and customers. You may not resell reports or access to them, run scripted or bulk lookups, or share sign-ins beyond the places on the account. We may suspend or close an account that does, without a refund.
Reports you give to buyers. Each report shows the record as it stood when it was created. How you use it with your customers is your responsibility.
